While playing the fifth hole at my club, I hit my second shot into a green side bunker. The winds were very strong and the flag was stretched, waving 90 degrees to me. I skulled the shot it hit the flag, the flag wrapped around the ball like a glove. The ball then dropped down and into the cup.

It takes longer to learn to be a good golfer than it does to become a brain surgeon. On the other hand, you don"t get to ride around on a cart, drink beer, and eat hot dogs if you are performing brain surgery.

After palying 16 holes of miserable golf my playing partner who is a 5 handicap turns to me as we approach the par 3 17th hole 140 yards and tells me to try to let my right arm lead way on my backswing, needless to say I hit a beautiful 8 iron into the hole for my 1st hole in one. He then turns to me and says with a straight face: Your a quick learner.

New Rules for Seniors:
1.A ball sliced or hooked into the rough shall be lifted and placed on the fairway. The senior should not be penalized for tall grass which the groundkeeper failed to mow.
2. A ball hitting a tree shall be deemed not to have hit the tree. The seniormust estimate the distance the ball would have traveled if it did not hit the tree and play it from there.
3> There shall be no such thing as a lost ball, the missing ball is on or near the course and will eventually be found by someone else and pocketed, making it a stolen ball. The player is not to compound the felony by charging himself with a penalty.

I approached the tough par 5 18th hole with 5 strokes needing a par to score 80. the dogleg 516 yard hole had woods on the right and was 280 yards to the dogleg. My 180 yard 4 iron was down the middle, but my second shot was pulled far left. Using a 7 iron I hit an amazing shot just clearing the trees and landed on the front edge of the long green. Facing a 90 foot put, I knew that two putts were critical for my 80. After a smooth putt, I watched as the ball took the break as it approached the hole and dropped in for a bird, giving me a 79 for the last time. I'm 85 now, but that putt is the golf shot I will never forget.
